About Me

My name is Sophia. I'm finishing my degree in Human-Technology Interaction at Hochschule Ruhr West, and currently working as a UX and interaction design working student at BEUMER Group, where I get to design for industrial software used by real operators on real machines across many different cultures and industries.

My interest in design started early, on family trips to IKEA. While other kids were bored, I was fascinated by the walkable path guiding you through every room, the way the layout made you feel like you were touring a home rather than shopping. I didn't have a word for it yet, but I was watching good UX design work in real time.

That's still what drives me: design that works quietly in the background so people can just get things done. I care about effectiveness and clarity rather than simply about making something look impressive. If a user has to think twice about where to click, the design hasn't done its job yet. I try to stay the voice of the user in every project, whether that's an app, a website, or an industrial dashboard.

Outside of design, I like to stay active and creative. Training for marathons, hiking, or painting are some of my favorite ways experience the world around me.
